Can I still use my property for personal stays?

Absolutely. It is your home. You can block owner stays in advance, subject to existing reservations and reasonable notice.

What happens if a guest causes damage?

Each reservation includes damage protection through Safely insurance for eligible accidental damage that is reported promptly.
