Overview
Big Bear is one of Southern California's top mountain biking destinations, with trails ranging from flowy cross-country rides to technical downhill runs. During summer and fall, Snow Summit operates its lifts for mountain bikers, providing access to a network of professionally built trails that descend through pine forests with stunning valley views.
The lift-served trails cater to all levels. Beginners can cruise gentle fire roads and smooth singletrack, while advanced riders tackle steep descents, rock gardens, and gap jumps. The resort's bike park features progressive terrain that helps riders build skills at their own pace.
Beyond the resort, the San Bernardino National Forest offers miles of cross-country trails. The popular Skyline Trail traverses the ridge above Big Bear Lake with panoramic views, and the Pine Knot area connects to an extensive network of singletrack. Bike rentals and guided tours are available from several shops in town.
